Time: 4:00 - 7:00 pm ET, twice a week from 02/11/25 - 03/13/25 Organization Name: Massachusetts Council on Gaming and Health The Problem Gambling Essentials for Clinicians is a 10-session, 30-hour course to grow your skills in gambling disorder assessment, treatment, and recovery support. This course, led by national experts, will build skills in gambling disorder assessment, treatment, and recovery support. By the end of the course, attendees will be confident in their ability to identify and respond appropriately to gambling disorder within their client populations. Earn up to 30 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) — 3 CEUs per attendance of each live class — while learning applicable skills from award-winning experts. Please note: This training is offered at no cost for providers in Vermont and Michigan. Classes will meet twice a week over 5 weeks. CEs available: 30.0

Problem Gambling Awareness Month is an initiative of the National Council on Problem Gambling and the campaign is designed to encourage state and local organizations and even individuals to create problem gambling prevention, education and public awareness activities within their own communities.?NCPG will provide an overview of PGAM themes and materials, provide state-specific data and examples of successful partnerships. Course Objectives: - Attendees will learn about national problem gambling prevention, awareness and responsible gambling initiatives and how to participate in them at the state/local level. - Attendees will learn about specific examples of successful partnerships in problem gambling and responsible gambling able to be replicated in Wisconsin.

The Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey’s observance of Problem Gambling Awareness Month will include a symposium:?“The Hidden Epidemic: A Public Health Concern.” This free, in-person symposium will take place on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 8:30 am. to 2:30 p.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church. 1140 Greenwood Ave., Trenton, N.J. 08609. Problem gambling harm has worsened in recent years to create a pressing public health crisis, affecting not only individuals but entire families and communities. The alarming spike in calls to our 800-Gambler Helpline underscores the devastating consequences, including:
- Strained mental health with heightened suicidal ideation
- Ruined finances and homelessness
- Broken relationships and family dynamics
- Increased risk of domestic violence and abuse

Organization: Oklahoma Association on Problem Gambling and Gaming This 4-day training will take place on March 21 and 28 and April 18 and 25. It is designed to help counselors, peer support specialists, and others build an understanding of gambling addiction. Twelve hours of case consultation, a prep class for ICGC certification, and counselor resources and a workbook are included in the registration. The training is free to anyone in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, thanks to Midwest Conference on Problem Gambling and Substance Abuse (MCPGSA) funding partners. For those outside the MCPGSA region, registration is $300.
As we recognize Problem Gambling Awareness Month, please join the Virginia Partnership for Gaming and Health and VCPG for the Virginia Symposium on Problem Gambling on March 21 from 10:30AM-1PM.
This free, virtual program will feature an interactive panel discussion with Dr. Carolyn Hawley, Dr. Donald McCourtney, Anne Rogers and John Hagerty and presentations from speakers, Brianne Doura-Schawohl and Elliott Rapaport.
