The Sunrise Peer-Led Problem Gambling Support Program will be tabling in the Elm Building at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College for Problem Gambling Awareness Month outreach. We will be available on campus between 9:00am-1:00pm sharing educational materials and available resources with the student body and staff. As Certified Peer Support Specialists we utilize our lived experience to decrease stigma and bring hope to others. It is our mission raise awareness of problem gambling as an addiction and continue to grow a complete program of community support for our peers.

The WCPG’s 26th Annual Statewide Conference has been scheduled for March 20th & 21st, 2025! (pre-conference March 19th) It will be held at Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center in Onalaska, Wisconsin. Accommodations: A limited number of rooms are available on a first-come/first-serve basis. Reservations should be made prior to February 19, 2025, to be eligible for the conference rate of $90.00 (plus tax) per night. There is no guarantee if made after February? 19th.? The phone number is (608) 781-3060. Please reference Group Code 25WICPG. Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center is located at 3060 S Kinney Coulee Road, Onalaska Wisconsin 54650. Who Should Attend: Persons involved in problem gambling research, treatment, and/or prevention – Criminal Justice personnel – Employee Assistance personnel – Mental health professionals, social workers, addiction counselors – Friends and family – members of problem gamblers – Human resource staff – Elected and non-elected tribal officials – Elected state and municipal officials – Gaming industry personnel – Educators and students – Clergy – Compulsive Gamblers Continuing Education Units: Participants can earn up to 21.75 CEUs with attendance to the Pre-Conference, Awards Banquet, and Full Conference. We will be applying for CEU certifications through the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC), Employee Assistance Certification Commission (EACC), International Gambling Counselor Certification Board (IGCCB), Wisconsin Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (WAMFT), and National Association of Social Workers (NASW). All participants will receive a certificate of attendance within 6 weeks of the Conference.
State of Nebraska and Nebraska Council on Problem Gambling Governor Pillen will sign a proclamation recognizing March as Problem Gambling Awareness Month in the state of Nebraska.

Organization: Oklahoma Association on Problem Gambling and Gaming This 4-day training will take place on March 21 and 28 and April 18 and 25. It is designed to help counselors, peer support specialists, and others build an understanding of gambling addiction. Twelve hours of case consultation, a prep class for ICGC certification, and counselor resources and a workbook are included in the registration. The training is free to anyone in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, thanks to Midwest Conference on Problem Gambling and Substance Abuse (MCPGSA) funding partners. For those outside the MCPGSA region, registration is $300.
As we recognize Problem Gambling Awareness Month, please join the Virginia Partnership for Gaming and Health and VCPG for the Virginia Symposium on Problem Gambling on March 21 from 10:30AM-1PM.
This free, virtual program will feature an interactive panel discussion with Dr. Carolyn Hawley, Dr. Donald McCourtney, Anne Rogers and John Hagerty and presentations from speakers, Brianne Doura-Schawohl and Elliott Rapaport.
