Keith S. Whyte, Executive Director of the National Council on Problem Gambling, submitted the following testimony to the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary for its hearing entitled \u201cAmerica\u2019s High-Stakes Bet on Legalized Sports Gambling,\u201d held on December 17, 2024. NCPG appreciates the focus of the hearing and the opportunity to bring national attention to the issue of gambling addiction. NCPG emphasized the urgent need for federal involvement in combating gambling-related harm\u00a0and for comprehensive policies to address the public health crisis tied to expanded sports betting.<\/p>\n
